Today I experienced something truly special here in Yungaburra at Halo Hair and Scalp Lounge with Emily — and honestly, it was far more than simply a hair appointment. It was a deeply calming, nourishing and restorative experience for both my body and nervous system.
From the moment I arrived, every detail had been thoughtfully considered. Emily’s approach is not only incredibly warm, kind and personable, but also highly professional and backed by extensive study and expertise across scalp health, hair wellness and holistic care. Her knowledge shines through in every layer of the treatment.
What impressed me most was the incredible attention given to the health of the scalp — something I realised during the treatment is so often neglected in our busy lives. Emily carefully analysed my scalp and overall hair health, taking the time to work through areas where I experience psoriasis, while also creating an experience that felt deeply restorative physically, emotionally and mentally.
The treatment itself was beyond relaxing. The combination of sound therapy, massage, deep scalp cleansing, gentle pressure techniques, nourishing products and calming rituals had such a profound effect on my nervous system. At one point, during the Halo Water treatment and neck and décolletage massage, I genuinely felt as though I was being wrapped in a comforting hug. It was one of the most calming experiences I’ve had in a very long time.
The lounge itself is immaculately presented — polished, boutique, peaceful and welcoming — with every tiny detail considered, right down to the beautiful herbal tea, biscuit, thoughtful take-home treatment and personalised product recommendations afterwards. Every layer of the experience felt nurturing and intentional.
And then, just when I thought the experience couldn’t become any more special, Emily finished with the most beautiful blow wave and a gentle perfectionist touch to ensure I walked out feeling completely cared for, confident and incredibly “loved on.”
Emily is truly a leader in this space. Whether you’re a local wanting to nourish yourself more deeply, someone experiencing scalp concerns, stress or nervous system overwhelm, or simply wanting to experience genuine self-care in the most beautiful environment — I cannot recommend Halo Hair and Scalp Lounge highly enough.
